The society’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on the 18th November 2023. All members were invited to the meeting.
The meeting began with an opening speech by Mdm. Liza Leong, the President of the Numismatic Society (Asia) for 2021-2023. She offered the following words in her opening speech:

Good afternoon, Honorary President Mr. Kok, committee members, ladies, and gentlemen:
Thank you for taking time for this AGM. First of all, I would like to reflect on what my team and I have accomplished for the past 2 years:
From October 2021 onwards, our 5 auctions had generated over $2,400 in profits. We are also the only local numismatic society to have a representation at the Singapore International Coin Fair for 2 consecutive years, and this has enabled us to strengthen our footing both locally and abroad, as well as growing our membership by 21 people.
2023 also marks a significant milestone for NSA as we celebrated our 25th anniversary founding with a dinner on 12 August. More importantly, a special edition of the “Asia Numismatics” journal was published last month to commemorate this event and I am personally proud to be a part of it.
Now, I want touch on my aspirations for the future and the plans we have laid down for the new term. My long-term goal is for NSA to become an internationally recognized numismatic society, and every step we take today is geared towards this target.
In the next 2 years, we shall work closely to accomplish a few things. Firstly, we will bring our auction online next year through an internet bidding platform that is presently being developed. Needless to mention, the benefits are apparent and we look forward to its implementation.
Secondly, I am a strong believer that the best name card a numismatic society can ever have is in the quality of its publication and I want to assure all members that the revival of “Asia Numismatics” is not a one-off, but a new phase in its development. Revamping the “Asia Numismatics” journal is a crucial step towards rebranding and this will hopefully bring about the changes we yearn to have.
Thirdly, as we continuously step-up efforts to widen our influence by participating in coin fairs and talks, we are also looking to expand our internet presence on Instagram and on other social media platforms. I am confident that more young collectors will be inspired to join in our endeavors.
Finally, I would like to give special thanks to a few of my team members for their unrelentless support in the past 2 years. Alan, organizing the auctions, exhibiting patience and endurance throughout; Jiong Rui, administrator of the website and designer of the journal front cover; Jeremy, always supportive and giving me ideas to improve the journal; Mr. Tan, handling the auction previews, collection and all the backend tedious tasks like mailing, etc. Being the backbone of our team, his contribution is immense and too many to mention. I would like to urge all of you to give them your support in the election later.
Last, but not least, I would like to thank everyone of you for your continuous support, and I would like to hear from you if you have any suggestions or feedback. We all have a stake in this Society and I look forward to a future together.
Thank you.
