NSA 25th Anniversary Dinner - 12 August 2023

To commemorate 25 years since the society’s founding, members were invited to a celebratory dinner at the Asia Grand Restaurant in Fairmont Hotel, Singapore.

Our current president, Mdm. Liza Leong opened the ceremony with an introductory speech.

Mdm. Liza Leong: 2023 marks the 25th anniversary of Numismatic Society (Asia) and I feel honoured to preside over this celebration. 25 years is not very long, but it signifies a major milestone for our society, especially at a time when our leadership transits from one generation to another. This evening, we will also be honouring members who have continuously served in the committee over the years and specially made medals shall be awarded to 7 members for their outstanding contribution. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our committee members, past and present for their support and contribution. All that you have done, or is doing now, has been impactful and will no doubt contribute to the growth of this society. Last, but not least, I want to wish our founding president, Mr. Wong Hon Sum, good health and a very Happy 84th Birthday, at the end of this month. Enjoy the food, Bon Appetit!

今年是“亚洲钱币学会”成立25周年，而我也感到非常荣幸能够参与这次的庆祝活动。25周岁虽然不算长，但在学会的成长道路上却是个重要的里程碑，尤其是在新一代领导层接棒的关键时刻，意义更是重大。我也要感谢我们劳苦功高的理事们，不管是现任还是过去的，谢谢您们的默默耕耘。今晚，我们将颁发特制奖章给7位理事，以表扬他们对学会的长期服务以及卓越贡献。最后，我想借这个机会预祝我们的创会会长，黄汉森先生，84岁生日快乐！祝您福如东海，寿比南山！

Commemorative silver medallions struck by Singapore Mint were issued by our Guest of Honour, Mr. B.H. Lim to the recipients of the long service award for those who has continuously served in the committee over the years: Mr. Wong Hon Sum, Mr. Kok Seng Whatt, Mr. Oh Koon Keng, Mdm. Liza Leong, Mr. Cheong Kee Toh (OstJ), Mr. Goh Hock Kee and Mr. Gao Dasong.
